After months of planning and procurement, AMI embarked over 100 personnel in Southampton to commence pre-works during the voyage to the Damen Shipyard in Rotterdam where, over two weeks, we undertook work throughout the vessel. During the two week period an additional 135 personnel joined the re-fit to complete the works.
The works included:
- Two aft pools - the Grills hot tub and Pavilion pools which included complete removal of the exitsting tank and beach tiles, replacement of the whirlpools and jacuzzies, replacing Teak. We commissioned Workhouse, an Italian specialist, to custome manufacture the bespoke designed new tiles, to Cunard's exacting design and specification
- Top 15 Suite's - Luxury bathroom areas refurbished which included the remval of the shower room floor and wall tiles, full height shower systems and shower doors and bathroom area floor tiles. These were replaced with high quality marble/stone finishes. The top suites lounge and bedroom areas also received full redecoration and repholstered furniture in keeping with Cunard's sustainability policies
- Queens & Princess Grills Restaurants and Lounge
- Queens Room custom manufacture and replaced the dance floor and steps. Manufactured from five different species of sustainabily sourced timbers. We also decorated througout and replaced the carpet
- King's court hard surface repairs to the quartz catering counters including polishing and sealing, tile repairs and deep cleaning as well as reuphostery and French Polishing to the seating
- Britannia Restaurant & Club new carpets, hard surface and tile repairs and the central, full height feature columns painted with a bespoke finish
- Play Zone Bulkhead and Deckhead modifications to W.C's, redecoration and new carpets and hard flooring throughout
- Golden Lion Pub bar shutters replaced, bar front replaced with bespoke tiles, carpets replaced, reuphostery to the furniture and stage timber floor re-finished. The Famous Golden Lion solid brass floor plaque was manufactured and replaced
- Gold Leaf replaced in Decks 2 & 3 recessed dome ceiling coffers
- Grand Lobby decorating throughout
- Staff Mess Room completely refurbished with new bulkheads, stainless steel catering units, joinery and seating units, wall coverings, tiles and flooring
- Pig & Whistle Crew Reception space, general redecoration, new hard flooring and carpet
- Hundreds of chairs and pieces of furniture re-polished and re-upholstered
- All ceiling lamps and chandeliers specialist cleaned and refinished throughout the stair towers, public rooms and circulation spaces
- Boat Deck, sourced and supplied 300 new steamer chairs and cusions
