The project focussed on 3 areas:
- The children's nursery - adapting and forming a low bulkhead and wicket door
- 'Dr Strange Door' - forming a new opening and bulkhead
- Crew Mess - extensive strip out and remodelling
The team joined the vessel in Southampton and sailed to Damen Ship repair in Brest, France, carrying out soft strip out whilst the ship was sailing. working noghts in the crew mess whilst it remained operational for the first 10 days of the refit and days for the alterations in the nursery children's area. The largest scope was in the crew mess, respraying the deckhead, fitting additional wall and bulkhead lights, new wash hand basins, decorations, new banquette seating, flooring, joinery, catering elements and furniture.
At it's peak the team was around 40 people, headed up by Paul Tedore (Contracts Director) and Dave Williams (Senior Project Manager).
The project was handed over 'snag free' - which is a real accolade with Disney's exacting standards and the team were twice awarded with the cleanesr site award - with over 120 differnet contractors aboard was a real honour.
